Abstract

Strategic planners are concerned about the destruction of life on Earth. Since the essential substance of life, with all its importance, is nothing but the environment, the aim of this article is to examine and analyze the relationship between common engineering education and the environment. To this end, this article uses the “philosophical method” to analyze concepts and critique common methods, and after addressing the theoretical foundations of education as well as reflecting on the viewpoints of some researchers regarding the environment, we have concluded that it is necessary, after reforming structures and improving management, to instill love and respect for the environment in children from the earliest years of life in this land, so that learners do not destroy their own home with their own hands. Many environmentalists consider the humanities and social sciences to be the main focus of environmental studies, because it is human behavior and, ultimately, human society that has caused many environmental problems. Therefore, since the motivation for destruction and pollution is formed in society, it is fitting to begin the remedy and solution in this very place, especially in the engineering education system.
